A unique meeting will be held from 2 – 4 November 2007 in Barcelona: the 1st European Multidisciplinary Meeting on Urological Cancers ‘Embracing the Excellence in Prostate and Kidney Cancer’.

For the first time in history all major organisations in Europe – EAU, ESMO and ESTRO - involved in urological malignant disorders have joined forces in setting up a meeting to present and discuss the latest state-of-the-art issues and controversies in this rapidly evolving field.
It goes without saying that this meeting is of great importance to the European Association of Urology and to European medicine in general.

We have prepared an interesting scientific programme with an eminent faculty of world leading experts to shed new light on the most current and important topics on urogenital cancers from gene to clinics.
The future in this field is indeed associated with advances in bench research. In other words, translational research with a focus on clinical implications of interest for both clinicians and basic scientists. This work aims to optimise diagnostic, therapeutic and preventional interventions directed towards malignant disorders in the urogenital tract and at improving quality of life.

Moreover, we believe that the final vision and optimal scenario for urological cancer patients is to become an essential part of routine health care and abrogate several major bottlenecks in terms of improved collaboration between urologists, radiation and medical oncologists using a multidisciplinary approach.

The European Multidisciplinary Meeting on Urological Cancers will be purely scientific and there will be no simultaneous exhibition held. The meeting promises to be a unique event creating exciting opportunities to meet many leading experts associated to oncology and related fields.
